Hello Blue Team!
Feelings after first week of class: I'm feeling a little stressed, given that we only have 4 weeks to complete the class. Reminding self to just keep moving forward. 😕
My learning goal? To learn at least one new tech tool that I can share with my elementary students.
Initial thoughts about Slack: This could be useful for communicating with students' parents--I'd need to get parents' buy-in to using it... And my school may have another system already established...hrm... But so far, I like it. Not too complicated and seems to make Zooming easier.
Question or concern about this class: I have some anxiety that I won't be able to understand or keep up with the tech info that's provided in this class. I keep reminding myself--keep working at it, keep moving forward. There will be tools and skills here that I can pass on to my students.
We got this! I really like what you have done with your blog! I might have to call you for some extra help and guidance! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matt! It is fun seeing what everyone is doing. It's helping me to keep motivated...thinking about our students and how we can keep them motivated...
DeleteI really like how creative you made your blog. It seems very fitting for the grade level you will be teaching! I also have some anxiety with technology so you are not alone. Keep up the great work, 1 quarter left!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jake! Yes, technology is here to stay, we may as well try to go with the flow and see what cool things we can share with our students. Only 1 quarter left---what a relief!!
DeleteWow yeah, after seeing your blog I can see there is more work for me to do in order to keep up. I think we have a lot of the same feelings about coming up against new tech tools. We got this!
ReplyDeleteAh thanks, Jason. You had a lot of great content in your blog. I was thinking that I should use some of your style in my blog--more informative! We're all learning from each other :-)
DeleteSo far Carmel you seem to have this blog website down! I like how hard you have worked in the past classes and I know you will excel in this one. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Preston. But honestly, I'm not sure I even know how to make my next blog post.(lol!!) ..I'm having trouble getting back to that screen where we made our initial blog posts..
DeleteMan, mine is horrible to this. Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteNope. We are each on a journey, going to different places at different times. You just be you. And we're happy to have you with us.
DeleteI think this is a very beneficial tool for elementary. I remember my 5th grade teacher had a website, and it was excellent for reminding families of due dates, upcoming content, and events at the school. My mom appreciated it as well for easy communication.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I'm going to keep that in mind. Parents have so many responsibilities, having one location that they can always rely on--perfect!
